Canon HW Matte Rolls -- a good paper if it is in stock
April 07, 2014
I buy paper and canvas in rolls 24 wide and go through a lot of it in a year.
I started buying Canon HW 230gsm Matte as a replacement for Epson Enhanced Matte, which is a well known low cost standard matte paper.
The Canon branded product was cheaper, slightly heavier, and less stiff than the Epson product all good features. The stiffness issue is important for roll printers due to the residual curl problem.
The Canon paper was very good, smooth, a neutral white and perfectly flat taking a very fine detailed image.
I have stopped buying it, not for quality reasons, but Henrys cannot get Canon to deliver it !! My last order was quoted as 7-14 days delivery, which in itself is ridiculous for a retail store. However after 14 days, Henrys reported that Canon had no idea when it would ship as there was none in stock. My customers will not wait, so neither will I.
So I switched to Red River who shipped immediately and was the same price after shipping from the US with duty etc.
