    • Great Mic -- Just Remember to Turn It Off!

    These are excellent mics, I've used them for many shoots. The sound quality is superb, even surprisingly so given the price. Whether one-on-one head-and-shoulders interview shoots or collecting wild sound, they're great. I even shot interviews during an outdoor party with hundreds of people shouting and yelling, and very loud music thumping -- it was so loud I couldn't hear a thing in my headphones. However when I played it back later the audio was crystal clear; the microphone kept out everything but what I wanted. The one shortcoming is the use of a separate battery pack. It uses a small watch-style battery that can be a pain to replace, and it will drain fully if you forget to turn the mic off (doing so is a bit counterintuitive). Apart from that however, it's a great mic.
