BERG BROWN/COPPER TONER

  • Berg BROWN/COPPER Toning Solution is a single bath solution used for toning black and white prints or films, having no offensive odor
  • The tonal range is very long, giving initially a warming effect, then a brown tone, followed by a sepia and flesh, and finally a deep metallic copper tone
  • The actual tone produced depends on the length of time of toning and the photographic material
  • Tones almost all silver-based black and white photographic materials including resin-coated papers
  • The original black and white image may be partially or almost totally restored by treating the toned material in a solution of ordinary print developer
  • Unusual effects can be achieved by partial redevelopment of heavily copper toned images (toned for 10 minutes or longer). Often the result is a striking combination of deep copper, blacks, and solarization
  • The darkest blacks of the original B&W print translate to deep copper-reds in the partially redeveloped image
