The construction of the Manfrotto Monopod Head Quick Release 234RC is solid. The quick release mechanism is very smooth and attaches securely. I have no worries using my Olympus e510 with large 70-300mm Zuiko lens, very solid setup. The head swivels 90 degrees to allow vertically composed shots. Another bonus is that the quick release plate used in the 234RC is identical to many Manfrotto monopod/tripod heads, so the plate can be used with other Manfrotto products without needing to change the plate on your camera.
